Last night the turbines were not noticeable at all, thankfully. I woke up feeling more rested and not stiff and sore. It would be nice if this continues...I understand that our premier was not too happy to be approached by those against wind turbines - this is a "Green" project and it looks to me like he refuses to discuss any possibility of problems. http://www.thestar.com/News/Ontario/article/858614
Here's something interesting, a women informed me last evening that she tried to find out exactly how many turbines were "needed", "wanted", "planned" for Ontario and can not get an answer. As I look at the more than 20 I can see just from my windows, I wonder also - When is enough, enough?

I just came across your blog as I was googling my extreme tiredness and the wind turbines all around our house and the sub station behind my house. I have always been wary on these windmills. Unfortunately we rent out house from my boyfriends family. And they are the ones who sold part their fields to build the sub station. Although our neighbors are the ones who sold theirs. Anyways I am into natural health and know that any kind of electromagnetic field has a great effect on your health. I have four young kids and this house was honestly a dream for them, with the huge yard and room to explore, no close neighbors, all the great things about living in the country, not to mention our love for it, the work we put into this s place. Now I know I have to move. If my tiredness is caused by these turbines. My boyfriend has also been tired but you could always try and attribute that to other things. The windmills got turned on almost 2 weeks ago. I don't feel sick in any other way just sooo unnaturally exhausted. I shouldn't be. I hate these turbines. Last night I went outside (it was going to storm) and they were making a sound that almost sounded like a plane flying over, like that whooshing sound. And they aren't even that close to my house. I know it was the windmills because one night while I was jogging and ran by the one that is closet to the road, it sounded exactly like that. I have no clue what to do. I am infuriated because I am pretty sure there is no anything I can do. Except try and live with it and hope the long run consequences aren't worse. Which is hard to do when you have kids. :( Thanks for the blog. Sorry for the rambling. (BTW I am in Cottam, by the Gosfield wind farm.) - Amanda
Thanks for sharing Amanda, I am sorry to say that the more you learn about turbines, the more you will find out just how many people are annoyed by the noise and/or suffering from sleep deprivation or worse symptoms. I continue to keep an open mind on the subject and believe it is best to assume that symptoms are related to something else and try everything else possible to combat them before focusing on the turbines. The reason is that you are exactly correct, there is not a lot that we can do. Even the lawyers that I have spoken to on the subject are saying that since there is no scientific proof at this time to prove that the sound and vibration and elecromagnetic field is from the turbines and is in fact causing issues it is a tough case to win. I am sorry to hear that you are bothered by the noise and can only say that I understand completely. The unnatural exhaustion I believe comes from being unable to reach a REM state of sleep due to the turbines and for me, it comes and goes. But, for instance, today I was so exhausted I could hardly keep my eyes open and had great difficulty getting out of bed at 7:30 even though I was asleep last night by 9:30! On the John Tesh show last night they talked about exhaustion being an early sign for women of heart attacks...I sure hope that is not the case here - I am far too young!!!
Amanda,
For more information on wind turbines and their effects, go to www.windconcernsontario.org.
They have information on turbine noise and health effects from turbines.
Hang in there Nik,lots of people are working on the wind turbine issues.
Thanks, I know people are working on it... I just hope long term affects are not a side effect, especially for my children because by the time anyone does anything about them, it may be too late for some people...it already is - some have had to leave their homes...
hi Amanda, my name is Kam, I work with Global TV's national newscast (with Dawna Friesen) and I'd like to speak with you RE your concerns over wind farms. Can you please contact me when you get this? It's krazavi@globaltv.com
